On 22nd July 2025, I had the rare privilege of hosting the opening ceremony of the meeting of committee on Intellectual Property Rights (CIPR) in Djibouti.In attendance were, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Trade and Tourism of the Republic of Djibouti;Mr. Abdou Ali Daoud, the Head of Division of the Intellectual Property Rights of the AfCFTA Secretariat, in the person of Mr. Desiré Loumou, Experts in intellectual Property Rights, delegates of the State Parties of the AfCFTA Agreement and some staff of the AfCFTA Secretariat. The meeting aims at developing the annexes of the protocol on Intellectual Property Rights of the AfCFTA Agreement. The meeting will last from 22 July to 02 August 2025.

Le mardi 22 juillet 2025, j’ai eu le rare privilège d’animer la cérémonie d’ouverture du comité sur les droits de propriété intellectuelle à Djibouti. Etaient présents le Secrétaire-Général du ministère du commerce et du tourisme de la République de Djibouti; M. Abdou Ali Daoud, le Chef de division des droits de propriété intellectuelle du Secrétariat de la ZLECAf, qui est en la personne de M. Desiré Loumou, les experts en droits de propriété intellectuelle, les délégués des États Parties de l’accord de la ZLECAf, certains personnels du Secrétariat de la ZLECAf. La réunion a pour but de développer/rédiger des annexes liés au protocole sur les droits de propriété intellectuelle de l’accord de la ZLECAf. La réunion durera du 22 juillet au 02 août 2025.
